A 40-cell Braille display with Perkins style keyboard that serves as refreshable braille display, note-taker and book reader. Additionally, it supports onboard translation, includes cursor routing keys, offers audio haptic output, and can be paired with a Bluetooth keyboard.


A 40-cell Braille display with Perkins style keyboard that serves as refreshable braille display, note-taker and book reader. As a refreshable braille display, the device when connected to a laptop, PC, tablet or phone displays text on the screen as braille. In the stand-by mode, users can read their favorite books stored in an SD card and take notes and edit files. It works with all popular screen readers on Windows, Mac OS, iOS, Android, Fire OS and Chrome OS. Also, it supports over 40 other languages. In this device, you can translate text from contracted Braille (Grade 2) to uncontracted Braille (Grade 1) and vice versa based on ones preference or needs. Also, it can translate text from that language into contracted Braille (Grade 2). It has some additional features in comparison to Orbit Reader 20 Plus which include: 40 refreshable braille cells, cursor routing keys, audio haptic output and Bluetooth keyboard. The cursor routing keys helps for quick navigation and text editing. The audio haptic output provides sound and vibration indications upon various user actions. Last, you can pair and use external Bluetooth QWERTY keyboards to fully control and operate Orbit Reader 40.

Cursor routing keys:While editing a file in Stand-Alone mode, press a cursor routing button to move the cursor to that braille cell. This makes the cursor navigation very convenient. Similarly, when connected in remote mode, press a cursor routing button to move the cursor to that point, or to select a link in a Web page or e-mail message


Auditory and haptic output:  provides sound and vibration indications upon various user actions. These indications may also be turned off from the preferences menu


Bluetooth keyboard: You can pair and use external Bluetooth QWERTY keyboards to fully control and operate Orbit Reader 40. You can also use the external keyboard and the onboard Perkins-style braille keypad simultaneously
